How to add the estimate widget to WordPress

You add the estimate widget to WordPress by pasting the code from your RoofSell Developer page into your site. There's no RoofSell plugin to install. The code works on any WordPress site that lets you add custom HTML or scripts.

First, get the code ready: open Developer, make sure Widget Plugin is Active, and add your domain under Allowed Domains. How to add the roofing estimate widget covers this part.

Add the estimate widget to WordPress on every page

This gives you the floating quote button across your whole site.

  1. Copy the code under Widget Script.
  2. In WordPress, find the place that adds code to the footer of every page. Many themes have a footer scripts field in their settings. If yours doesn't, install a header and footer code plugin from the WordPress plugin directory.
  3. Paste the script into the footer field and save.
  4. If you use a caching plugin, clear its cache.
  5. Visit your site in a private browser window and look for the quote button.

Add the estimate widget inside a WordPress page

This puts the full estimate form in the page itself, which suits a dedicated free estimate page.

  1. Copy the code under Embedded iFrame.
  2. Edit the page in the block editor and add a Custom HTML block where the form should go.
  3. Paste the code and click Update or Publish.
  4. If the form looks cut off or too tall, change the height="700" value in the code.

Common WordPress problems

  • The button doesn't appear. Check that your site address matches an allowed domain, with or without www. WordPress shows it under Settings, then General.
  • The code disappears when you save. On WordPress.com, your plan may not allow custom scripts or iframes. Check what your plan includes.
  • The inline form stays blank. The page has to be on an allowed domain. Add the exact domain from your browser bar to Allowed Domains.

Not sure which version to use? Compare them in floating button vs inline embed.
